Sick And Tired- society at half mast LP

This has been mastered and plated, and will be coming out on Gloom records in about a month. The 12" is limited to 300 copies. The band was originally supposed to do a split on gloom with Bombuilder a number of years ago, just didn't happen.
Fast relentless Punk hardcore from the bowels of Western MA., Get this or get fucked!

Satanic Threat 7"
28 Jan 2008 by Nate Wilson
Fast, hellpunk from members of Ohio's Nunslaughter, Possessor & Midnight. Drawing influences from the likes of MINOR THREAT, UNIFORM CHOICE, YOUTH OF TODAY, and of course some SLAYER.
This 7" e.p will come out as a split release by Hells Headbangers & Gloom Records very soon. The ep will be deluxe in packaging, limited to 1000 copies, on a satanic black/red wax. This shit will piss punks off for sure.

Toxic Holocaust sign to Relapse
28 Jan 2008 by Nate Wilson
I'm proud of the 3 records that I've had a chance to release for Joel. The guy has always been amazing to work with.

TOXIC HOLOCAUST has released two full-length albums, "Evil Never Dies" and "Hell on Earth", in addition to several split releases and 7" singles since forming in '99. TOXIC HOLOCAUST's newest material will appear on the upcoming "Thrashing Like A Maniac" compilation due out on January 21 via Earache along with DEKAPITATOR, MUNICIPAL WASTE, and more. Brand new TOXIC HOLOCAUST tracks will also appear on the "Speeds-N-Spikes" split 7" series, due out later this month, where the band will be paired up with BLUDWULF. The band is currently writing the follow-up album to "Hell On Earth" which is expected to see a spring/summer release via Relapse.
TOXIC HOLOCAUST has always taken the more punk rock approach to metal, embracing a D.I.Y. attitude to self-book tours of Australia, Japan, Europe, Brazil, Canada, and the full U.S. The band is currently wrapping up a brief tour of the North-West United States and has most recently been added as main support on the MUNICIPAL WASTE U.K. and European tour in February.

For more information, including upcoming tour dates, visit the band's MySpace page.: www.myspace.com/toxicholocaust

This will be out in about 2 weeks...
the covers are done, and I just got the test pressings.
this will be a one time pressing of 500 copies. No repress!

Both songs are rippers...DC do a song that reminds me of early Sheer Terror, While HM play some Japanese styled crust much like Bastard.

No pre orders. thanks nate

Johnson street/NYC...store update...etc
04 Jul 2007 by Nate Wilson
terrible news that Johnson Street in Brooklyn has moved all the shows from there... not sure what has happened yet, but there are currently no shows happening there. This was the best venue NYC has seen in a decade...sucks to see things change before they should have.

Also for those who know or remember Jim MacNaughton from Devoid Of Faith/Affirmative Action, etc. Jim's wife is having a baby any day now. Drop the dude a line!

I've updated the store/catalog part of the site for the first time in a while. there are many images for my releases.. past and present. The first part of the store/site is all out of print gloom releases, and what info I can recall from the release.

recent demos..
12 Jan 2007 by Nate Wilson
okay, the Holy Mountain stuff is done for their side of the split with Deathcycle. lets get going Deathcycle.

recent demos..
I get a shit ton of demos in the mail... most of suck.
these are a few I got recently that don't won't get broken and recycled

Socialcide-demo tape
fast punk from VA. not to much distortion overdriving this sound, so it keeps that old style sound. I like it a lot. fast, and snotty.

Defile-we are from hell CD demo
pretty awesome metal, that doesn't sound all new and polished. kind of has that German thrash 80's feel, mixed with some Swedish death from the early 90s. Great thrash metal parts that kept my neck snapping through all nine songs. These guys are from St. Paul MN.

Nightstick Justice cdr demo
another demo with whom I've lost the bands info and lyrics. What I can tell you about these guys is that this is a Great demo, straight ahead hardcore, that sounds as mean as the name. Five songs that only slow up, so the singer can make it clear how pissed off he is. this rules.

Suburban Death Camp-cdr demo
I think these guys are from SF. They play viciously fast stuff, that at times reminds me of Stockholm Syndrome. 14 songs on this demo. Mastering is a little low, but other wise this rips.

We March-live@ the frontroom cdr demo
I was avoiding listening to this for a long time because its live. Well I gotta say you get a pretty good feel for how these guys sound on this great live recording. reminds me of a cross of Verbal Abuse and Flesheaters. I'd love to hear studio stuff by these guys.

All Those Opposed-cdr demo
The packaging on this is great... silk screened fold out, with a pin and a CD that looks equally as fucked up as the packaging. The Music isn't as cool as the package. I think it suffers from a bad guitar sound, and thin recording. These guys do try though.

Corpus Dei-cdr demo
These guys are from Buffalo NY, and Still going for that Tragedy sound, cept the recording and vocals fail..a bit to moshy for my tastes. I prefer the older material. still a good effort.

the Kanamits- cdr
Okay, the same sorta sucks, but the music won't disapoint. fast and thrashy hardcore (5 songs), with cool female vocals. I don't know where they are from, the info got lost in my shit. cool stuff though.

Cult Ritual-tape
this is pretty catchy hardcore, thats played mainly fast, with cool noodles on the guitars. vocally sometimes reminds me of Rollins (maybe SOA era). dudes are from Florida.

back from tour...
08 Nov 2006 by Nate Wilson
Well, tour is over and I must admit that I already sorta miss it. Its been about 3 years since I toured with the Oath, and this tour was definitely the one I enjoyed the most. Marcel was completely out of his mind... Will and the rest of Ampere proved to be really awesome, down to earth people. It was great getting to know them.
My favorite shows were the Fest in Gainesville Florida, the Mercy House Amherst show, and perhaps the Brooklyn show at the loft. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us, said Hi, or bought records. I hope this happens again, we'll see.
I guess its back to listening to Motorhead 24 hrs a day, watching bad westerns and horror movies, and doing mailorder/e bay.

ps I am loving living in NYC...shoulda listened to Mark and Lauren and done this about 3 years ago..

If you live in the NYC area and need your house painted, get at me...its my life and my love.

I'm currently working on a limited split 5" with Deathcycle...the other band I want to host the other side hasn't confirmed yet, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. keep sending demos to my new address .

the DARVOCETS-have landed CD $8ppd in the usa/$12ppd world
Greetings and salutations, earthlings, the Darvocets have landed! The Darvocets in conjunction with Gloom Records present to you 13 alien abductee tested tracks of late 70's 'Killed By Death' style punk, similar to the Crucifucks and Mentally Ill (if they were from Venus). Discovered in the rotting corpse of a freshly mutilated cow, this CD compiles their extremely hard to find 7", new 12", as well as two live tracks, one being a previously unreleased track. When you're done with this you will feel as if you have been probed in... (GLOOM 039)

TOXIC HOLOCAUST "reaper's grave" 5" ep out now!
01 Jun 2006 by Nate Wilson
TOXIC HOLOCAUST "reaper's grave" 5" ep
Joel grind goes back to his roots on this 5" ep. The recording is raw as fuck, stripped down thrash metal. Yup, thrash styled metal that mixes elements of early black metal in to the sound. Think early Sodom, Bathory, and Exodus. The vox were recorded in Joels car in an Applebee's parking lot. Both songs are new, and were recorded in 2006. "reapers grave" and "death brings death". this 5" comes on blood red vinyl, and is limited to 500 copies ever. Order now or forever miss the fuck out.

$5ppd pay pal fees included cryptocomx@aol.com

CUT THE SHIT-harmed and dangerous LP repress- $8ppd
the bands first full length...
clear wax...no label arts, second pressing of 500 copies

PERMANENT TRIP demo out now

STRAIGHT TO HELL-commence the apocalypse LP OUT FUCKING NOW!
23 Jan 2006 by Nate Wilson

STRAIGHT TO HELL-commence the apolcalypse LP-
Straight to Hell are back with their last tracks ever, in the form of 12 scorching anthems(recorded by Will Dandy at Dead Air studios). The same frantic drumming, and wailing Discharge guitar bends reminiscent of your favorite Japanese hardcore heroes, as well as the pounding force of Swedish greats like Anti-Cimex. you know this is fast... Features Brian, the drummer of Dropdead. This 12" is limited to just 500 hand numbered copies, with custom screen printed covers done by Aaron Ulcer. Pick this up while you still have a chance, or go get fucked.
(gloom 036)

$9.50 ppd in the USA pay pal address is cryptocomx@aol.com
$19 ppd anywhere else in the world
please forgive the high price, but doing an LP of only 500 copies was expensive... take into account the recording i paid for, mastering, plating, inserts, screen printing, and the blank Jackets.

STRAIGHT TO HELL- commence the apocalypse LP out friday ...limited to 500 copies
16 Jan 2006 by Nate Wilson
the vinyl for the STRAIGHT TO HELL- commence the apocalypse LP is shipping to me this week. I should have them by Friday I hope. I've already got the covers and inserts... Aaron the vocalist screened the covers and back covers himself. they look really cool. I just finished numbering them, and there will only be 500 copies of this ever. no repress on the vinyl. I will send out an update as soon as i get the wax, so as people can start ordering this long awaited, last record by these R.I. hardcore dudes. no pre orders ever with gloom releases, so keep an eye on the site, and sign up as a subscriber on the gloom site, so you can always get the mailorder/limited versions of my stuff. thanks. Nate

Bomber from RKL dies...
14 Dec 2005 by Nate Wilson
fuck...
I was really bummed out to hear this today. Bomber and his band were one of the most influencial for me growing up in the SF hardcore/punk scene... when i was eighteen and had just moved out to SF on my own, bomber and barry both sorta took me under their wings, taking me to the haight asbury soup kitchen, driving me to some crazy warehouse shows in the RKL van, and just getting me loaded when i needed to get loaded. shit, he even hooked me up with a try out playing bass on one of the many line up changes (joey got the gig, as i couldn't play the shit bomber was playing). It was again bomber who surprised me with a personal copy of rock n roll nightmare the day it came out. he told me to check out the comic book that was included with the record. I did.. It looked so awesome, like nothing i'd ever seen... I was stoked. He then told me to check out the thanks list, it was the first time i'd ever made one on a record, It was a monumental moment for me, and he knew it.
I hadn't talked to the dude for fifteen years or more and had no idea that he had such a serious drug problem. Jason was the one everyone was always worried about. At any rate, the only info i've found out about it so far, has been on the nardcore message board... the following was written by Brandon Cruz on dec 13th

i just got the bad news. he overdosed on heroin this morning. he was a good friend to a lot of us. he was one of the best musicians out there. bomber ruled. now he's gone. fuck. just like all the others. drugs. this fucking sucks. i hope he's at peace with himself now.
R.I.P. Bomber, we will miss you.

STRAIGHT TO HELL-commence...LP
30 Nov 2005 by Nate Wilson
Work has seriously begun on the new Straight To Hell LP "commence the apocalypse"... Its been recorded for a while now, but the art work has been finished up, and Aaron is working on screening the covers as I write this. This will be a limited to 500 only pressing.... it will not be re pressed again, as the band is no longer with us. there are 11 unreleased songs on this beauty.... so please keep an eye and ear out for this one, as it will not be around for long.
After the STH LP I'll be releasing the forever delayed the JURY/WAKE UP DEAD split LP (limited to 120 copies...
Still waiting on Joel from TOXIC HOLOCAUST to get me the two new unreleased songs for the 5" gloom is doing...

Also keep an eye out for my auctions on e bay...trying to raise money to keep the label afloat. you can check my on going auctions by going here... http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZcryptocomx

I hope to have some new ones up after the Gouka show as well.

Joel is working hard on getting the toxic holocaust stuff done for the 5". Nick ace is getting the art together for the jury/wake up dead 12". this will be limited to 120 copies.

Gloom Gallery up...check out the museum
04 Oct 2005 by Nate Wilson
Okay, after a bit of work, and much help from Brady (who now does all the site updates), I'm proud to announce that we've finished the Museum part of the gloom records site. this includes some older flyers from my days with Devoid Of Faith, and Monster X, along with some photos of band I've been shooting since the late 80's. a few of them are not shot by me... but most of them are. hope you enjoy the addition to the site.

http://www.gloomrecords.com/museum/

there are still colored vinyl copies of the Rites 7" left. this record is limited to 1000 copies, and will not be repressed.

gloom update 9/25/05
25 Sep 2005 by Nate Wilson

Brady is working on a gallery for flyers and old photos of mine. this should be up shortly so please keep an eye out for it.

I will not be releasing the No Thanks demo as a 7". the artwork ordeal was a nightmare, and something I would not want to repeat. We could not come up with a design that either the label or the band could get behind together. I hope and wish Donna luck.

At this point I'm working hard on getting the Inmates CD out, along with the Toxic Holocaust 5".

the Wake Up Dead/Jury split 7" has been changed to a 12" split, limited to 120 copies for mailorder folks only.

thanks...Nate

the Rites-death of the party 7" ep out now!
08 Sep 2005 by Nate Wilson
the RITES-death of the party 7" ep $4ppd
They're back after after keeping a bit of a low profile, and numerous delays with this ep.. the Rites are back at it again. This time Matt and company bring you seven songs with throaty, gruff vocals that are coupled with bassy, down-and-dirty, mid-to fast-speed hardcore. This release is bursting with real hardcore soul. Great cover of the Zero Boys "high time". More awesome artwork by Paul of Cut The Shit. (Gloom 035)

the RITES mini tour test press...
17 Aug 2005 by Nate Wilson
the RITES 7" that I've been trying to get out for ages, and most importantly in time for the bands 10 day tour overseas is totally fucked up. I got the test pressings recently and they mastered it with the three songs that are supposed to be on side A...but added a gap of digital black (like 20 seconds of nothing)... then the 1st song of side b was somehow put at the end of side A. its a mess and the band needs them for their 10 day mini tour/vacation overseas... so i'm doing 100 tests of this fuck up.. It will be for sale on their tour only, with a different cover that Matt's thrown together.

the No Thanks demo stuff is almost complete, and has been sent to me in the mail. I should have it any day. With any luck that will be out soon as well.

thanks, Nate

NO THANKS......
11 Jun 2005 by Nate Wilson
I've recently been in touch with Donna Damage who sang for the legendary NYC hardcore punk No Thanks in the early 80's. She's really fucking awesome and is living on the west coast creating art, and enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle. We are planning on releasing the 1982 No Thanks demo on Gloom Records. After that there will be a re-release of the very hard to find No Thanks 7". This should all happen rather quickly, I'm just waiting on the art work from Donna, and the projects will start moving along. For those who have never heard No Thanks... All I can say is Wow..fast fucking hardcore, with insane sounding guitar riffs, and shrieked political vocals that for the time were way ahead of their time. some called them peace punks... I call them hardcore punks. I'm very proud to be involved in these releases, and hope to be able to help introduce this cult band to kids who twenty five years later are questioning the same sorts of things.

Toxic Holocaust-evil never dies CD out now
28 Apr 2005 by Nate Wilson

TOXIC HOLOCAUST-evil never dies CD $8ppd pay pal in the USA
Crazed bullet belt-and-high top thrash metal from the fiery pits of Maryland. Toxic Holocaust carries on in the grand tradition of Destruction, Kreator, Whiplash, and Bathory, with songs about nuclear war, Satan, and other wholesome themes. CD compiles the debut lp, Evil Never Dies, and the Death Master 7”. This is the soundtrack to getting high on magic marker fumes and cheap domestic beer in your parents' basement circa 1986. Kills posers on contact. Fifteen tracks, forty minutes of metal. (Gloom 034)

Gloom fucking records in 2005!!
03 Jan 2005 by Nate Wilson
Its hard to believe we've made it on into another year. Much thanks goes out to my true friends, family and those who support me by ordering from the distro or label. Also to Brady for helping out with the site this year. 2005 will perhaps be the craziest its ever been for me, with tons of slated releases (they are listed below). I also hope to do "another shitty fucking hardcore fest" in Albany. My goal would be to perhaps have it arranged around a touring band from outside of the United States. Get in touch if you have ideas. Thanks again. Nate

STRAIGHT TO HELL '02-'04 CD discography OUT NOW!
20 Dec 2004 by Nate Wilson
STRAIGHT TO HELL-'02-'04 dicography CD $8ppd in the usa
Straight to Hell is the dirty American bastard child of Swedish and Japanese hardcore (except STH is from the artsy fartsy town of Providence RI). Ex-members don't need to be mentioned, because their music stands on it's own. The music is a pummeling assault of tight drumming, awesome guitar leads, overpowering bass with vocals that are pissed off screams and are convincingly angry! Extremely pissed off, brutal hardcore. This 24 song CD is highly recommended for fans of Death Side and Totalitär. Includes the split 7" with Balance Of Terror, the s/t 7", a comp track, and the "we will bury you" LP. (Gloom 032)

Under the Blade
12 Dec 2004 by Nate Wilson

New!!!! Repos/14 or Fight 7" out now... Career Suicide/Direct Control house show ends in riot
11 Nov 2004 by Nate Wilson
okay, its finally here. the REPOS/FOURTEEN OR FIGHT split 7" is out now on gloom...

the REPOS/ FOURTEEN OR FIGHT split 7" $4ppd in the USA $7 world -
Brand new split from these two midwest superpowers... The Repos have reminded me of a more modern Septic Death since the first day I heard them. Seven ragers to help drive you over the edge. Fourteen or Fight play four songs here. Fast and snotty stripped down hardcore from my good Chicago friends. Both bands are sure to knock you on your ass, Mid west style. Cool looking stoner artwork.

Fucking amazing night last night at the Career Suicide show in Albany..
The show was nuts... turned into a riot. It was like seeing two movies for the price of one. The cops showed up about 3 songs into CS's set... demanded everyone leave in five minutes(100 people)...the remaining people who staywill be arrested the cops said. It was crazy, because there were like 15 year old kids drinking beer and shit... I slid out thinking i was going to jail for being old and in the wrong place at the wrong time. Across the street a gang fight started over a girl.. weapons were pulled out and people attacked one another, the cops responded with some weapons drawn and the cops maced some of the attackers (one cop even had a firearm drawn). this was all happening as like 6 cops were trying to end the show....they left the house show to contain things next store. was nuts...
about 2 hours later I got a call from my buddy Matto telling me the show was being continued at a practice space... we went. CS played a full set, plus like 20 covers. Direct Control played another set of drunken covers. crazy fucking night in Albany. prolly the show of the year for me.

thanks...
20 Oct 2004 by Nate Wilson
Much thanks goes out to my fellow painter, and friend Brady who has been able to figure out some of this web site stuff (yup, the fucker was able to get the bands part of the site up again). Brady will be adding bands to that part of the sight, and perhaps adding record covers etc. Thanks Brady.

Breaking news...
08 Sep 2004 by Nate Wilson
yup, that I am doing the FOURTEEN OR FIGHT/the REPOS split 7"... the stuff is already recorded and fixed to fuck you up. I'm VERY excited about this release, as I love both bands, and this is a great chance to give out a double dose of fine mid west hardcore the way it should be played. Got the Artwork, and things are rolling fast.

Albany is looking up for diy shows lately. contact Chris Behind the Times @ helorot@yahoo.com or Dan Barker from Deathsquad/Gawdings Sawed Off @ nochoice18@yahoo.com
For bigger shows contact Judd on the links part of my site @wakeuppunk
I am starting to think about Gloom Fest again. My hope would be to have a European or Japanese band headline.. we'll see. Contact me if you are touring.

We all have things, or people who impact our lives in ways in which we never fully understand or come to realize until of course certain things in life have already happened.  For me there was one person in particular who impacted how I to this day live my life.
I was Eighteen years old and had just moved out to San Fransisco after graduating high school in 1985. I didn’t know a soul out there, but  had gone to numerous punk/hardcore shows in the Albany NY area where I had lived a while.  After going to some show in Albany I found MRR and discovered the mecca we know as SF.  Not only was thrash metal in full swing in the Bay area, but all my favorite punk bands had relocated to the area as well.  I moved out there with $2000 that I had saved working as a dishwasher in an shitty restarant.  Since I didnt know anyone out there, I stayed at a hotel for a few days until I was able to find a weird apartment type of place mainly designed for people from outside the U.S. to live in.   It included two meals a day, a bed in a room with another room mate, and a bathroom shared in the hall way.  I stayed there for a few months until I met some people at shows that introduced me to other people who got me into the “ideal” living situation.   I started attending the college for recording arts as I wasn’t finding work, and was able to get assistance for the school.   Soon after that I met a guy who was living with the S.F. skins on Fell St. and Bucannan.  He informed me that they were moving out of the one room Apt.  The house was huge, and the skins occupied the bottom floor.  The kitchen and bathroom were shared with this guy named Val, who I guess was the biggest tranvestite in SF at the time.  He was in his 50’s… don’t ask me how, but somehow the skins and Val lived for many years together without incident.  Bones, the leader of the skins was happy to have me take over the rent at the apt as he was moving into a place with his soon to be wife.  All these guys did all day was salute the flag, drink beer, and listen to AC/DC.  Oh, and they also had a band called the Noise Boyz.  Through Bones and his Gang of merry men I met members of Jakks the skate team, and other meth heads.  I was really hitting a low point now, as the people I knew from shows were either skinheads, junkies or metalheads.
After the Skins left, I was living at 603 Fell street for a few months with some "friends" when I randomly ran into this guy named Erik Meade.  He was like 4 years older then I was, and played in many bands at the time, living right around the corner from me.  The only band  I can recall him being in at the moment was Death.  Yep the Death metal band… but this version had Eric Brecht from DRI playing drums, this guy Erick playing bass, with Chuck S playing guitar and doing vox.  At any rate, Erik started turning me on to bands I’d never heard before. We were hanging out everyday, he was showing me how to play some guitar stuff,  He made me mixed tapes filled with bands like the Angry Samoans, 76% Uncertain, SSD, Fang, Septic Death, Wasted Youth, etc… My eager ears were in heaven because at that time I was more into the crossover side of things, and these bands were still obscure to me.  I had ventured to all the shows at the Farm, and On Broadway … But my new friend Erik had started telling me about an all ages venue that punks were starting in Berkely.  He had attended meetings and wanted me to attend with him, as he thought perhaps my knowledge of sound might be helpful to the club.  The club was of course Gilman Street… and I attended some early meetings, helping to build the stage, etc.  When Erik introduced me to Tim Yohannan, and commented on the fact that he thought I might  come in handy with sound there.  Tim burst into laughter, and told Erik that metalheads had infested the other scenes and helped to destroy everything the punks had worked hard for.  Erik was furious and Told Tim off.in front of everyone at the meeting. We both went to meetings a few times after that, but the elitist attitudes of those involved with early Gilman really discouraged us both from even going to shows there for a while.  Erik was really in the know… he was doing bands, did a popular tape comp called Lethal Noise, was going to every show and seemed to know everyone.  He got me involved with some other guys, and we formed a band called the Romper Room Rejects.  It was kind of a play, on the Gilman situation, as the place was known jokingly amongst members as the Romper Room.  Erik really had a huge impact on my life at the time.   I moved away from S.F. not even thinking about the fact that I might never see him again(this was before the internet, and e mail).  I just left, and lost touch.  The years go by fast, and I forgot the guys name, I knew it was Erik, but couldn’t remember his last name (yeah I was wasted most the time back then).
About five years ago while reading MRR I saw a name that looked familiar, so I called the MRR house and got Arwen on the phone  I asked her if this Erik character could be the same Erik I had lost touch with, and was looking for.  She laughed and said, nope.. this guy is considerably younger then you.  So for the last Five years I’ve been thinking a lot about Erik, and wondering what he was doing.  I was wishing there was a way I could tell him how much he had touched my life.  How much he had helped mold it and how he had changed me forever.  It seemed helpless as I didn’t even know his last name.
Well, this summer while I was visiting my good friend Matt Average and his loveable family in L.A.  We happened to go to Amobea records so I could whore around and shop for rare records.  Matt points out a employee there and says "hey wasn’t that guy in C2D"?  I’m like… damn, well he looks familiar.  The employee starts working in the area I’m in, and I say to him, "hey this is gonna sound weird, but were you in a punk band called Condemned To Death back In the 80’s"?  He looks sorta of puzzeled at me and replies with, "nope, but I was in a metal band called Death back then".  My jaw dropped, and I almost flooded the store with tears, but held back because this was all a bit weird as it was.  I explained to him who I was, and could tell he barely remembered me, and prolly hadn’t given much thought to me in the 20 years it had been since we last saw one another.  We talked for about an hour about old times, and I just spilled my guts to him, letting him know that I was trying to get in touch with him, to thank him for all he had done for me.  For taking me under his wing, and for showing me without prejudice what the punk scene was really about back then.  This guy was my mentor and he had no clue.  The entire expierience was over welming.  I told  Matt that I was so over come with emotion that I just wanted to cry.  His response was “really”?   Erik and I exchanged e mails, addresses and phone numbers.  When I got back home here to NY the first thing I did was send Erik a package of all the records I’d ever put out, all the bands I’d played in, etc.  Its unreal to me how small of a world we live in.  It really seemed like it was meant to be for me to re meet the guy at Amobea that day.  I still don’t think he knows what an impact he had/has on me.  I can only say, that if that ever happened to me, I’d be stoked to know I’d influenced or touched someone in such a way.  We should never take for granted those things that got us or put us where we are.  Enough of the sap...

STILL IN THE WORKS FOR GLOOM

Still In the works...
STRAIGHT TO HELL-CD
the RITES-7" (Oct recording...)
WAKE UP DEAD/the JURY split 7" (Albany goes head to head)
SICK AND TIRED-7" (Western Massholes)
JBA-LP

Also I will be working with STRAIGHT TO HELL to get their CD out. This will Include the "we will bury you" LP, the 7" and the split 7" with Balance of Terror. The band and Jon Deadalive will not be working together anymore, and I want to thank both parties involved for giving me the chance to get this out in the CD format. for those who have not heard these guys yet, a description is below.
STRAIGHT TO HELL CD
Straight to Hell is the dirty American bastard child of Swedish and Japanese hardcore. Ex-members don't need to be mentioned, this record stands on it's own. The music is a pummeling assault of tight drumming, awesome guitar leads, overpowering bass and vocals that are pissed off screams and are convincingly angry. Extremely pissed off, brutal hardcore. One of the best LP's of the year, highly recommended for fans of Death Side and Totalitär.

Update fuckers...
19 Jun 2004 by Nate Wilson

I had almost 100 extra covers from the CUT THE SHIT marked for life 10"... instead of burning them, or throwing them away I decided to press 100 more copies of the wax... mixed colored wax/75 with no label arts...25 with old label arts.
if you want this get in touch asap....they are going fast

The TOXIC HOLOCAUST-deathmaster 7" will be the next Gloom release. Its being pressed now, and the covers are also being manufactured. This will be Gloom #30. For those of you who don't know T.H. they are a thrash styled metal band who mix elements of early black metal in to the sound. Much in the vein of Destruction and guitar wanks like Slayer. Check out the evil never dies LP for a true taste of this innovative metal.

GLOOM RECORDS PRESENTS...Another Shitty Fucking Hardcore Fest...All done, thanks
03 Mar 2004 by Nate Wilson
Well the fest was a great amount of work and lots of fun. Sucks that DON AUSTIN broke down on the way out and didn't get to play, but thats the only cancellation we had. We had a bit over 400 paying people, lots of band members and friends, plus workers. During the Nine shocks set there were well over 500 people watching them. It was amazing to see Wedge playing the drums for them again. They played for almost an hour, with a continuous circle pit that resembled something out of Another State of Mind.

the shitty fest was of course a bit long...but ran well.

You guys who showed up and supported it all made the DEVOID OF FAITH set something that felt very good and natural to me. I was never into the idea of playing (it took Jim some convincing thats for sure), but at this point I'm glad we did play. It was the funnest set i've ever played. I really felt something as we were playing. I've played shows to 2000 plus people, and nothing has ever compared to the feeling i had while playing last night. thanks.

It was also cool to see lots of old friends, and meeting new ones. It was rad that Rob Coons from MRR was there.. Al Quint, Stuart and his Japanese friend, McCoy, Gartland, Dave TIU, Devlin, etc.

News update Feb 26th, 2004
02 Feb 2004 by Nate Wilson
The RITES and I have decided to not do the one sided 12" together, as we ran into some serious problems regarding Coalition records new distribution with Mordam. It would not have allowed me to do this record as a split release as originally intended by the band and myself.
I will be doing the bands next record. watch for these guys to be touring Europe in June with CUT THE SHIT.

The artwork for the BOMBUILDER side of the SICK AND TIRED split has come up missing, so I'm waiting on Thuggy to see if he's got a back up. Thats why this record has been delayed. countless art work problems. ughgh what next?

I'm Nate and I've been doing Gloom records for over 10 years now. Started it as a way to put out records by the bands I played in at the time. As time moved on I started putting out records by friends. Kids who seemed to appreciate someone putting time and energy into getting their music out there for others to hear. I actually have enjoyed doing the label now more then ever... and it even beats playing music. That could change I guess.... I've put out bands such as TOXIC HOLOCAUST, CUT THE SHIT, the REPOS, the OATH, MONSTER X, NINE SHOCKS TERROR, DEVOID OF FAITH, TOTAL FURY, LAST IN LINE, the PROWL, CLOSE CALL,TO HELL AND BACK, the DEAD ONES, VOORHEES, BY THE THROAT, the SHEMPS, JOHN BROWNS ARMY, REAGAN SS, CURTAILRAIL and many more. the label also acts as a distro, trading with bands and labels to distribute diy punk/hardcore records through out the world.
